Sadie Fields violin & Ken Gee piano
Music from Japan to Canada
Violinist Sadie Fields returns to Canada from Belgium to join friend/pianist Ken Gee for another Musicfest ENCORE recital as Guelph Musicfest 2025 continues its musical journey Around the World!
Brahms Sonata in G major; Bartok Roumanian Folk Dances; Takemitsu Distance de Fée; Edward Enman, Imagined Shapes; music by Canadian composers Imant Raminsh & Emily Doolittle.
Violinist Sadie Fields and Guelph Musicfest director/pianist Ken Gee have been performing together as the Festival Trio since 2014. During that time, they have built on a common sense of musicality and close friendship that makes for wonderful performances. Although an ocean separates them, they have a common connection with the city of Guelph.
Sadie now lives in Brussels, Belgium, and has a stellar career in Europe, performing in top-drawer ensembles such as Bryggen Strings in Belgium. She recently became the new leader of Scotland’s famed Edinburgh String Quartet. But she grew up in Guelph before heading off for studies in Manchester and London, UK.
